    ASTAD SIGNS MOU WITH KOREA ENERGY AGENCY

    In light of QGBC’s Sustainability Week, ASTAD signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Energy Agency yesterday to further promote ASTAD’s commitment to best sustainable practices. The MOU, which was signed at the Qatar National Convention Center (QNCC) on Monday 14 November, paves the way for bilateral cooperation and joint strategic objectives aimed at continuous knowledge sharing and the improvement of energy management strategies and energy efficiency for buildings.

    ASTAD showcases projects at Made in Qatar

    ASTAD was the Silver Sponsor of this year’s annual Made in Qatar Expo. The four-day expo was held from the 6th to the 9th of November at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center in Saudi Arabia. It was the first ‘Made in Qatar’ to be held outside of Qatar and welcomed a vast amount of leading Qatari companies along with small and medium-sized enterprises.

    ASTAD CEO ALI AL-KHALIFA TALKS REGIONAL EXPANSION at QATAR-SAUDI ECONOMIC FORUM

    ASTAD marked its first step towards GCC expansion with a speech delivered by their Chief Executive Officer, Engineer Ali Al-Khalifa at the Qatar-Saudi Economic Forum held at Al Faisaliah Hotel in Riyadh. The event is organized by Qatar Chamber of Commerce and the Council of Saudi Chambers. The opening ceremony was attended by H.E. Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada Minister of Energy & Industry of Qatar and H.E. Engineer Khalid A. Al-Falih Minister of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources of Saudi Arabia. Participants also included the Chairman of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Al Thani, the Chairman of Al Jouf Chamber of Commerce & Industry Dr. Hamdan Al Samarain, Qatar Tourism Authority, the General Authority for Investment in the Kingdom, ASTAD and Qatar Development Bank along with key business owners and corporates.

    ASTAD PLAYS STRATEGIC ROLE IN QATAR’S TRANSPORTATION SECTOR

    ASTAD has proven its strategic role within Qatar’s transportation sector in supporting the nation’s journey towards sustainable and green development. ASTAD is currently managing the Qatar Foundation Tram in Education City that is the first battery-powered tram system and the first rail project of its kind in Qatar. With the QF Tram, the Education City is set to boast a car-free zone with reduced carbon emissions, and is part of a wider plan to ensure that sustainability is an integral part of the day-to-day lives of local residents. Building on ASTAD’s expertise in planning, design, and construction of green infrastructure, ASTAD’s joint venture with Italferr and Hill International won a contract on the Lusail Light Rail Transit (LLRT).     ASTAD HOSTS SUHOUR FOR ALL EMPLOYEES

    ASTAD organized a Suhour gathering for all of their employees and their families at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski Hotel on 16 March. The event, which has become an annual tradition for ASTAD, brought together 600 employees along with their families to commemorate the blessed month. Guests were entertained with live music as they celebrated Suhour in the true spirit of Ramadan. As part of the event, a prize draw was held and various prizes were distributed throughout the evening.
