Astad, Qatar’s leading project management consultancy, has announced that it “is the first firm in the Middle East” to be certified for ISO 45001:2018, Occupational Health & Safety Standard, by Bureau Veritas (BV).
BV is one of the foremost independent third-party accredited certification bodies in the world with a focus in the areas of quality, health, safety, environment and social responsibility.
Astad said it achieved the recognition through a comprehensive audit by BV, who also certified Astad’s integrated management system – which “reinforces the company’s aim to always deliver excellence”.
Astad stressed in a press statement that it has been managing the delivery of projects in Qatar for over a decade, offering expert project management consultancy from project inception through to construction, committed to ensuring all of their clients’ needs are met safely and sustainably. Over the years, Astad has been an ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001-certified organisation.
“Moving forward, Astad remains committed to conducting safe and sustainable operations while maintaining the health and safety of their people, clients and the environment,” the statement noted.
“Astad values the alignment of quality, health, safety and environmental management systems and regularly promotes common professional behaviors in order to achieve contractual requirements.”
The consultancy firm has managed and delivered some of the most complex building and infrastructure projects in various sectors of the construction industry. With more than 800 employees, Astad has worked on over 250 projects covering education, healthcare, sports, commercial, residential and transport, bringing together all the necessary components required to build a booming nation with a bright future to look forward to.
